“Triton and Mercury really stepped up and they were really eager to work with GE and excited to see GE’s interest in the fishing industry,” he said. “Hopefully it will be a growing opportunity for everybody.”

Chapman said the Elite Series concept and ESPN/BASS’ support of the anglers were a critical component of interest to GE officials. “I give them credit for that because without BASS’ vision and plan, this deal would have never happened,” he added.
