There have been so many times that I have been truly blown away by his determination,drive,and faith. It is true that nothing can get in Clay's way.I have known Clay for a while now competing in tournaments against him and working shows with him. He is absolutely one of the most amazing people that I have ever been around and without a shadow of doubt he is my hero. One of the funniest things that happens to constanlty is peole ask me if I have ever met Clay because they know I fish tournaments. When I tell them that I know him very well they go crazy. He is a full on celebrity, and I am so proud for him. I honestly believe that if everyone in the world could meet Clay the world would be a better place! Luke Dunkin
Carl Berryhill Guest Feb 02, 2007 7:40 AM	Well I am very blessed with being able to call Clay Dyer as one of my best friends and even brothers. I have known Clay all of my life and live in the same hometown as Clay. I feel that I know Clay better than anyone. When I look at Clay I do not see that he is different because he can do as much as anyone especially in a boat. I have got to see Clay grow from us fishing in his pond in the early teen years to flipping mats on Lay Lake in tournaments. Clay and I started being friends when we were in Middle School. We have been fishing together for many years and I enjoy everytime we get to go. Clay has been such an inspiration to me over the years because of his drive to succeed in everything and his faith in God. The most amazing thing that I have ever seen Clay do is tie a palomar knot with his tongue over a jerk bait with three treble hooks. This is a type of knot in which you have to loop the knot over the bait and all three hooks. When he did that without getting a hook in him I was amazed. Another amazing thing that I have seen him do is balance a 20oz gatorade bottle on his arm while we were going about eighty miles per hour down the interstate. One thing that I would like for people to know about Clay is that he is not only a good fisherman but a great coach. He knows a lot about sports and is at every high school practice with me as I coach the Offensive line and Defensive backs. He knows a lot about football and brings a lot to our team. He is the biggest fan of the Hamilton Aggies.
Jeremy Webb Guest Feb 04, 2007 9:42 AM	I have to agree with everything Carl stated in his post, but espically that I am blessed to know and have a friend like Clay Dyer. Clay and I have been friends for many years, like Carl I also grew up with Clay, although I was a little older. Their is not one story that I can tell because every time we have been away together it usually develops into a story. Countless fishing trips, boat shows, bait shop trips, and through many other adventures we have developed into two of the worlds greatest problem solvers. Between Clay and I, I believe we have figured out almost every part of life or most of what life can throw at you. Clay is truly an inspiration to everyone he is around. I enjoy the amazement on everyones face that comes in contact with clay. I take his enthuasim for granted to much, but because I am around him alot it always seems to rub off and always makes my day better. I have always said that Clay is the greatest "If I Can You Can" man that their is in the world. One last thing, you don't have to be around Clay very long to know where he stands with his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Clay has that faith that the Bible speaks about moving mountains and I am so blessed to be a personal witness to someone with that kind of faith. Clay thanks for your faith and inspiration in everything you do. You know that I'm behind you 100 percent. Don't forget, the fish generally bite better when the air temp. is above 7 degrees.

Clay, his mother Beverly, and his friend Scott Canterbury were out at Lake Fork for the Skeeter owners Tournament. We fished that morning and came into Mosers Restaurant for lunch. While we were having lunch, I mentioned to Clay that I could see him traveling around the country being an inspirational speaker. I said I could envision him standing up before large crowds, doing a casting demonstration, and quoting Phillippians 4:13 " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Clay got a big smile on his face, winked at me, and right then we both knew God had HUGE plans for his life. Jay Yelas

From the moment he strolled into the seminar until the time he strolled out there wasn't a moment that didn't touch me in some way. Later that night Clay and Elvin joined us at a Junior A hockey game and he came down to the locker room to talk to the team and when he was finished he led the us (the team) in a prayer. That moment will be etched into our hearts and minds for the rest of our lives. We were blessed to hear him speak at a local church the next morning and then continued on to have lunch with him. To have such desire, ambition, and faith going will leave a mark on all those that he comes in contact with. Carry on my friend and "HAPPY FISHING!"
dcanterbury 1 post Apr 18, 2007 12:14 PM	Just knowing and being around Clay is an inspiration to me. I am going to tell a story about how my nephew (around 4 at the time) was inspired by Clay. Clay was visiting us for the weekend so he and Scott could fish together on Logan Martin. My nephew (Logan) came over to visit with us and to see Clay. Logan and Clay were messing around with each other and Clay suggested that they wrestle. Logan was a little taken back and kind of looked at him like he was crazy. Scott said, "Logan tackle him". So Logan, being the obedient boy he is, took off running and "tried" to tackle Clay. Clay swooped him up and slammed him on the ground. Logan was amazed and they continued wrestling until they were both worn out. Logan is 8 now and STILL to this day tells that story to all of his friends. OK so my story about Clay is that I went to school with him in Hamilton, he's a few years younger than me but I do remember him quite well though we never spoke a word to each other I've always had so much respect for him, and he always had a smile on his face. So I've moved off from Hamilton I now live in Huntsville, well one Sunday at church the pastor announced we would have a professional tournament fisherman coming to do a motivational speach well I was already excited because I love fishing and everything to do with fishing....then he said it was Clay Dyer from Hamilton, AL I was so excited and couldnt' wait to get more information on this upcoming event The Hunting and Fishing Expo, they showed up the ESPN clip of Clay which totally washed away any makeup I had applied that morning...LOL, so I googled Clay and somehow I clicked on the right link wrote an email requesting more information on the event and low and behold I got an email from Clay, (we emailed each other back and forth) letting me know what time and day it would be. So my son and I went to the Expo I'm telling you I was so excited to see Clay I couldn't even sleep the night before, so Clay finally walks out on the stage and I had to wipe away the tears just to see him and hear him speak was so emotional he had so many great inspirational stories to share with us, his testimony everything, how he interacted with the crowd patiently answering every question the lil' ones had for him...he's so wonderful, so after the event everyone was lined up to take pictures with Clay and he took pictures with everyone in line he's such a sweetheart and I'm glad to be able to call him my friend and if you ever need me Clay for anything I'm here for you. Good luck in competition this year and I hope you save lots of lost souls with your motivational speaking and your inspirational story.
